'The people of Arizona have spoken': Outgoing GOP Governor Doug Ducey congratulates Katie Hobbs
Arizona's outgoing Republican Governor Doug Ducey met with Democratic Governor-Elect Katie Hobbs on Wednesday as failed GOP gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake refuses to concede and pushes conspiracy theories about the November 8th election. Ducey, who drew ire from the right when he certified President Joe Biden's Electoral College victory over former President Donald Trump in 2020, welcomed Hobbs and wished her well.
"Today I congratulated Governor-elect Katie Hobbs on her victory in a hard-fought race and offered my full cooperation as she prepares to assume the leadership of the State of Arizona. My administration will work to make this transition as smooth and seamless as possible. Our duty is to ensure that Arizona’s 24th Governor and her team can hit the ground running and continue our state’s incredible momentum," Ducey said in a statement released by the office that he will vacate in January.
“All of us have waited patiently for the democratic process to play out. The people of Arizona have spoken, their votes have been counted and we respect their decision," Ducey added. "No matter who we voted for, all of us have a stake in Arizona’s success. Our future is bright and boundless. Let us never forget that as we begin this next chapter in our state’s history.”

Lake, meanwhile, has kept herself busy by threatening Hobbs and Ducey with lawsuits, alleging that they are withholding nefarious activities that Lake baselessly insists took place in the hotly-contested race.
"They're dragging their feet. They don't want to give us this information so we're asking the courts to force them to give us information," Lake declared on Real America's Voice. "This is not our main case. When our main case drops, they will hear it. Trust me. They will hear it. And they better think really hard before Ducey and Hobbs sign their John Hancock to that certification. They better think long and hard about what they know about what happened in this election. Because when we drop our lawsuit, they will hear it. We have whistleblowers coming forward and at least one smoking gun in it. And we will not stand here and make a mockery of our sacred vote."
