CEO of DeSantis’ super PAC quits: report



The chief executive officer of Florida governor and 2024 GOP presidential candidate Ron DeSantis' super PAC Never Back Down resigned Wednesday, The New York Times reports, "effectively immediately."

Chris Jankowski's resignation comes as tensions rose within the super PAC this week when DeSantis aide Scott Wagner and Never Back Down consultant Jeff Roe "nearly came to blows" during a strategy meeting discussing ex-South Carolina governor and rival GOP candidate Nikki Haley's recent success poll success.

According to the Times, a spokesperson for the super PAC offered a statement from Jankowski saying, "Never Back Down's main goal and sole focus has been to elect Governor Ron DeSantis as President. Given the current environment it has become untenable for me to deliver on the shared goal and that goes well beyond a difference of strategic opinion. For the future of our country I support and pray Ron DeSantis is our 47th president."

The newspaper notes, "DeSantis has a long history throughout his political career of cycling through different teams, a fact that people who have worked for him have attributed to his micromanaging style."
