Fox News Dem fact-checks conservative to his face: 'Why did Trump flip-flop?'

Fox News host Jessica Tarlov on onday quickly corrected her co-host, Greg Gutfeld, after the right-wing commentator claimed that women "have been told" by Democrats to "only care about" one issue: abortion.

"Thankfully, the Supreme Court and Trump have decoupled abortion," Gutfeld said. "Women don't have to be a single issue voter anymore. You don't have to just vote based on what Planned Parenthood demands of you."

"So a vote for or against Trump from a woman has no impact on the issue of abortion," he continued. "Has no impact. The Dems don’t want you to know that. If you're a woman it has to be about abortion. How insulting is that?"

"Then why did Trump flip-flop on [abortion]?" Tarlov asked.

"He never did," Gutfeld replied.

"Yeah he did. Last week," Tarlov shot back.

Last month, the former president slammed Florida’s six-week abortion ban, saying, "I think the six is too short; there has to be more time, and I’ve told them that. I want more weeks."

Then following backlash from pro-life Republicans, The Hill contributor Austin Sarah wrote that Trump "tried to walk back his comments. He said he would vote 'no' on the Florida ballot measure, describing it as 'radical' and falsely claiming that it would mean 'you can do an abortion in the ninth month.'"

Lila Rose, head of the anti-abortion group told Politico last week, "I think it’s very foolish what he’s doing. It’s politically unwise, it may cost him the election, and it’s morally unprincipled as well. Right now, it’s all about turnout. If he wants to galvanize his base, he needs to stop trying to pander to Kamala Harris’ base, because they’re never going to vote for him anyway."

She added, "It’s ironic that they might blame pro-lifers for an election but then they need pro-life votes. They’re kind of shooting themselves in the foot by blaming their own base."
